If granite is intruded in basaltic terrain, it will generate positive density contrast.?

    Let's try thinking instead of cheating for a change.

    Density is measured according to the formula D=M/V. The SG of granite averages about 2.7 g/cc and basalt is about 2.9 g/cc. If you have a granite body (such as a pluton) replace a basaltic terrain with the same volume, the M must decrease. A gravity low will correlate with low M, according to the formula W=Mg.

    Now it shouldn't be too hard to determine what happens to the D or the gravity with a granite intrusion.
