Can i sleepy with a loaded gun in my car in utah?
I am taking a trip to utah from california and i will be taking my shotgun with me because i will be sleeping/staying in my car and when going asleep i would like to have my gun loaded to prevent anyone trying to get in my car/robbed me i will have the mag loaded but not chambered.
What do i do if the police show up because i know sleeping in some parts of the state is illegal in your car and i have my gun near me? Do i tell them i am armed and will slowly come out with my hands up? Also my windows are tinted dark so they wont see me. THIS IS IN UTAH btw!!!!
What are the best places to sleep in your car while traveling?
Rest stops?
Empty parking lots?
Dark alley?
Dark street?

Pick a cheap KOA, and there is no longer any problem, because you will be on private property, and the police have no jurisdiction.
If you did not have the gun, then I would have suggested truck stops, rest stops, K-Mart parking lots, etc.
But with a firearm I think you should be on private property.
I would not do a public park, because I think those prohibit firearms usually.
