How/Should I paint my Camera?

So I have a Sony NEX 3K. It is a red color camera and the color doesn't really appease me. I had to choose it because it was the only piece lying around in the Sony Store. So anyways it was a demo piece and I had no choice but to take it. Now after prolonged usage. The paint on the camera got worn out and it doesn't look good AT ALL. Is there any way by which I can paint the camera. (Spray Paint) or some sort of thing.

Thanks in Advance

    Not advisable.

Spray paint may somehow go over the lens and digital sensor (no matter how good you are in masking) and effectively render the camera useless.

Red is a good color. You can easily see your camera even from afar. It also makes people look at you so taking their picture becomes easier. My wife loves her red dSLR for those reasons.

A faded camera is a good thing. That's normal especially with well-built Sony cameras. Take it as a badge of honor that you and your camera has lasted this long together taking pictures for like forever. Cameras are expected to take good pictures, not necessarily look good. Your NEX is a fine piece of technology you should hang on to until the day it dies.

I can't understand how the original lacquer or paint would come off with normal usage.

But I wouldn't attempt to paint it. In any case, the rugged look is also quite cool!

that would probably damage it as it will get into the camera, there isnt really much that you can do, but come on, red's a cool color
