how to hide Trichotillomania?
I have Trichotillomania. this is a very common but not well known medical disorder and it involves pulling out your hair on your head eyebrows eyelashes or anywhere else on your body. I pull out hair from my head. this disorder is brought on by anxiety, depression, or a traumatic experience. I have had it for a little over a year now. I have bald spots all over my head. I usually wear a headband because it makes my hair look a little thicker but I have a bald spot on the back of my head. I cant put my hair up because my hair use to b so thick and when I put it up it is very noticeably thin. do you have any other suggestions for me? and I'm trying to stop and now I'm just growing my hair back.

Hi Melody, I know you want to stop pulling your hair out, but you have to try and learn new hobbies to get your mind keep idle time. Many people that have trichotillomania hide the fact that they have it, and they may stop pulling for a few days and start back pulling their hair out. The goal is to stop the impulses completely, even if it takes 2 years straight to fight it. Check out - Pulling out your hair disorder http://www.examiner.com/article/pulling-out-your-h...
