Does anyone know of a good crock pot?
I would like to buy a 6 or 7 quart crock pot, but a friend tells me she has two and they both have hot spots. This means she has to stir the ingredients every 30 minutes or so and that just negates the reason for a crock pot.

Rival makes a good brand. I have a 6 1/2 quart. Buy one with a removable dish-MUCH easier to put that in the dishwasher than the old soak and scrub method.

I believe the genuine Crock-pot as the best as they were designed for that type of cooking and others a just cheap copies.
Judge by price and compare the brands you are looking at. If they are ridiculously low steer clear of them, and find out which brands your friend has and what she has been cooking as it that could be the problem and not the slow cookers she has
I find the oven or hob is just as good and a lot quicker but then I don't have to cook for many

The cheaper new ones do seem to have hot spots. And mine overheats. I have a new one and an older one that I like much better. I believe you have to pay a little extra $$ to get a good crock pot these days. The cheap ones are just that... they are cheap and poorly designed.

The original crockpot was best but there are many good brands around today such as Kambrook,Breville,Sunbeam etc.I have never heard of one having a hot spot.

Buy a good brand, either Rival or Crockpot. I have a five quart Crockpot brand, and have no problems.
