Udentity unknown: wooden rolling pin for dough?

This is 8 3/4" long. Is this a puzzle or a useful tool? It is meant to roll something out. But dough? What can this object be?

    It was not used for dough. It was used to grind things such as oats or nuts or seeds or bread crumbs.
