how do spanish numbers work?

I'm trying to memorize, 1 - 100.

Does it work like in english?

For ex. 2 : two, twenty, twenty-five?

Or was it something like I have to memorize the first 30 numbers?

I'm really confused, somebody please help!

    Hello! I advise you to memorize the first nine numbers and the "ten multiples". The last numbers are the combination of the first one-to-ten and the name of the "ten multiple" they are in. For example:

    48 = 40 (cuarenta) + 8 (ocho)= cuarenta y ocho

    32 = 30 (treinta) + 2 (dos) = treinta y dos

    99 = 90 (noventa) + 9 (nueve) = noventa y nueve

    These rules apply on almost all numbers from 1 to 100. The exceptions are:

    11: once / 12: doce / 13: trece / 14: catorce / 15:quince

    In brief: You have to memorize de numbers from 1 to 15 and ten multiples (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100). The rest of the numbers are combinations.

    In a way it is like in English. veintiuno-twenty one.In some languages it would be the equivalent of one and twenty Ex.German and Dutch. 2-dos,20 veinte,25 veinticinco.It is not too difficult Keep at it.

    veinte y uno, veinte y dos on up to noventa y nueve, although most people write them each as a single word: veintiuno, veintidos...etc.
