What's the point in getting to level seven on Yahoo Answers?

Honestly... I'm going to slide across the line by voting for best answers... but I won't get anything for it! What's the point in level seven? What (realistic) privileges would you like to get if you get there?

It's kind of like losing your virginity. Sometimes IMHO you just have to get it out of the way.

I'm still asking for the "magic Wand" but not getting a positive feedback on that one.

Or at least a "brightness" button to help out some of these "questions">

Actually there is no point to anything here. It's supposed to be an enjoyable pastime that lets you help people. The site administrators tell you that in writing when you sign up. Basically all there is at Level 7 is you get a cute message sent to you automatically, you max out on voting, answering, asking, rating and all that other good YA stuff. That and 5 bucks will get you a cup of coffee at your favorite upscale bistro (read: no monetary value).

There are other mind -games that you can amuse yourself with. Watching your "odometer" click over every 100,000, like an lover of old cars. Aiming for certain statistical things like top 10% on the Leader Board or keeping above a certain Best Answer percentage. Basically tricks to keep from getting bored and to counteract the frustration and anger of the New Improved that doesn't work and the staff that apparantly doesn't care.

I suppose there is some theoretical esteem from The "Community" here to be gained. Such things don't motivate me. I prefer to be a pest (not a troll, that's something completely different). Trolls try to upset everybody. I reserve my efforts for site administrators, for whom I no longer have the slightest respect. :-P

I would think that you would think the whole point of Yahoo Answers is just to answer questions for the community. The point system is just there as a incentive to continue providing the community with solutions to their daily problems. So there really isn't a point in this level system. It's just an incentive.

The only thing it ever got me was freedom from counting points. They have no point once you're at Level 7.

Well, ok, when I got into the upper 90,000s I did start checking my points again to see when I'd get to 100,000 but that stopped as soon as I crossed that mark.

Congratulations. The number of points between level 6 and level 7 is considerable (15,000) There are are no additional privileges other than what you have had at level six. I suppose it's really kind of nice to know you have reached the highest level in YA and have helped a lot of members.

You will get 1 point for every vote you make and that helps you go up the levels as well as being allowed to do more stuff than you can when you are on the lower levels.

There are no privileges for being on L7, we are just the same as all the others, trying to earn more points, and being helpful with our experiences.

You will still get 3 points for selecting a Best Answer yourself rather than getting 0 ond leaving it to the voters
