What does Psalm 41:11 mean.?

Why was this question reported and removed? This is a perfectly good question. Here is my answer. For those who don't like the question, don't read it.

David had lot of enemies. They all tired to destroy him and many chased him in order to kill him with the sword, including King Saul, the king of Israel before David.

So David had to go into hiding against his enemies at times. Many times the odds were against him. But the Lord did not allow him to be defeated or killed by his enemies. So when David realizes this, he acknowledges the Lords protection by saying "the Lord must be pleased with me" Which the Lord was pleased with David. In Acts 13:22 we read, "after removing King Saul, he made David their (Israel) king. God testified concerning him: I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do".

    Hi Elsa!

First of all, the answer is true that David had God at his side, and He even forgave David for his committed with Batsheva! This Bible text teaches us how while we serve God and never give up, He won't let us be on our knees dying in the hands of our enemies.

    THANK YOU!

David expresses confidence that God would hear his prayer, saying: “By this I do know that you have found delight in me, because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me. As for me, because of my integrity you have upheld me, and you will set me before your face to time indefinite.” Ps. 41:11

That God had taken delight in the psalmist was evident “by this,” namely, by the fact that God gave him internal assurance that his enemies would not “shout in triumph” over him as victorious fighters in war.

During David’s sickness, God directed his thoughts to the firm conviction that he would be upheld ‘because of his integrity.’

The psalmist does not thereby deny his own sinfulness and unrighteous acts but lays claim to a general life course of wholehearted devotion to God.

Instead of succumbing to an untimely death, the psalmist anticipated continuing for a long time (“to time indefinite”) ‘ that is, in friendly relations with the Creator and as the recipient of his protection.

This is really good. Who knows why they delete a perfectly good question. When God is pleased with you he does deliver you from enemies, he did it for me and others.
