New years in vegas cost?
I'm considering driving to Las Vegas tonight from Los Angeles and staying celebrating new year there. My question is this; I already have a friend out there so location is covered, but how much would I need to just party out there? I don't gamble, so it would just be a couple of drinks and location. Can I do this for less then $150 a person NOT including gas and all last minute? Also, what are the odds of getting lucky (yes thats a serious question), on new years eve? In case this help, I"m a 27 year old male who can walk all day if need be.

The highest priced casino bars will charge you $7 for a beer or basic shot of well liquor, fancier drinks might cost up to $15. So yes for $150 you can drink plenty enough.
The odds of getting lucky decrease by about 5 percent for each alcoholic beverage you consume though. You also need to be trained in recognizing prostitutes so you don't waste an hour talking to one only to find out she wants $500 from you.
Your best chance is to go to a property that's popular for groups of single women to visit for a "girls vacation". You don't want to go to Wynn or Bellagio or Venetian where golddiggers are fishing for millionaires. I recommend MGM Grand, NY NY, Harrahs, Flamingo, Bally's, Caesars Palace.

Did you even ask your friend what the plans are? Most locals avoid the strip during holidays like this. Your costs will be way more then that if you are headed to the strip. I just recently had a stay on the strip from Dec 22 to Dec 24. The price of everything went up on Dec 23 in expectation of the Holiday. Even the price of food jumped from $50 to $75 for the Buffet of Buffets. If you are planning to party in a club on the strip then expect to pay no less then $300 for that alone. Not to mention that if you don't have a hotel on the strip, your not going to be able to get out of there until 3am the next morning. However, if you are planning a quiet get together at someone's house in the more local part of the city then $150 should be more then enough. However, it still won't be enough to "get lucky". You odds of getting lucky are extremely low.

The costs of tickets to various parties around LA is anywhere from $85.00 to well over $500.00 per person, so I think the chances are slim you will find anything for less out in Vegas that's worth going to at least. Get online and research the clubs at the various casinos in Vegas to see what tickets cost. Your odds of getting lucky depend on what kind of game you have which, judging by this question, isn't much.
