what could be wrong with my laney amp?

i bought a LX120RH laney amp, though it does not sound right. like, its a 120watt amp but it sound like 10 watts, and the guitar sound sounds dampened as if its stuck on the neck pickup. please help me, is there anything i can do? new leads or anything?
