My computer died, and I need to buy another one, need some advice on lingo and type.?

My computer has died. It was over 6 years old. It was the top at it’s time, but I pushed it to the limit.

With Blu Ray Discs, cameras, and my detailed adventure games. I have to get a new one, the technology has grown since then.

I have heard Cybertron PC’s are exceptional. However, my budget only allows me NO more than $800 including shipping.

I have been looking around, but find it to be a whole different language than when I bought before.

My family plays the following types of games, Syberia, L.A Noire, Blade Runner, (oldie but goodie) Sims games. We need the space and the power.

Reading reviews are a mix of things. So I am putting out there for some help.

I saw this, but have no idea what the numbers mean. If I could get a quick learning session, much appreciated. Here are the links of what I have looked at. Thanks all for help.

What is the big difference in these two computers???

Update:

A gaming PC is different than a normal PC, and NOPE I don't KNOW much about a gaming one. Now a regular, yep, I have two of them, but a gaming is different, or I wouldn't be asking.

I work on a computer all day long, but it's not a GAMING PC. I like playing games, and I burned my other one up. So I put it to the community to get some feelers. this may eliminate sarcasm in the answers.

The main difference? They are largely the same, with quad core CPUs (which just means that there are four logical CPUs in one physical chip) and 8 GB of DDR3 (dual data rate 3 memory) RAM (which is a base standard for a gaming rig).

The more expensive rig has more on-board expansion slots, according to the specs. They have the same number of drive bays.

The clock speed of the CPU is .6 Ghz faster, and the storage is doubled in the more expensive option. Oddly, it has the faster video card - the differences in the two cards is not vast, but the cheaper system has the faster card for some reason, while the more expensive system has *dual* video cards of the slightly less expensive type. The dual video card set up might have slower video memory, since that card comes in a GDDR3 (Graphics Dual Data Rate v3 memory) version, while the more expensive card only has a GDDR5 version.

These are not hard core video cards, either way, and come in under $100 if sold separately.

As an aside I know nothing in particular about this brand of PC; I build my own. If it helps, it looks like both systems are somewhat upgradeable, and you can go with the cheaper model now, add drive storage to it later, and a second of the same, better video card when you can afford it.

(edit: and don't worry about Windows 8x. Windows 7 is perfectly good for gaming.)

Source(s): I build and upgrade PCs, and game on them.

There are huge differences and you should be able to see them.Go with the one that is $890.Much better.Very quick the cheaper one take slower ram,and is maxed out at 8gb.The other one uses faster ram and can be upgraded to 32gb or ram.The cheaper on power is only 400 watt the better one is 600.The list goes on and on.For the extra money you will be getting a much better pc.

you should know this stuff if you're considering a gaming pc-the more expensive one is much better, it has a faster processor, faster ram, bigger hard drive which is also slightly faster but not really, better dvd drive, the gpu performance is about equal but im not sure as the more expensive one has two graphics cards but the cheaper computer has one faster graphics card, so im not sure about which is faster there, and i would honestly recommend a newer computer, those are old and have windows 7, newest is 8.1
