Why do my mascaras always dry out?

It usually occurs when you either leave it with the lid off or not sealed tightly enough, or due to pumping the wand up and down to get more makeup onto it, as this pumps air into it simultaneously and anything else in the surrounding environment like air freshener for instance.

In order to prevent this from happening in the future, make sure you keep the lid tightly sealed when you're not using it, twirl the wand to get more mascara on it, don't pump it and under no circumstances add water to it. That will thin out the concentration, meaning the chance of an eye infection is more likely and making it more likely to run, meaning you could end up looking like Alice Cooper!
