A Question for Republicans?

Putting aside whatever suspicions and dislikes you may have for Democrats. I don't care as I am an outsider from the other side of the Atlantic and am not interested in these political divisions. But be honest and I am not trying to provoke any side here.

Which states in America should be bankrupt based on the current economic picture? I was watching a YouTube clip of the Daily Show and it was making fun of the endemic corruption of New Jersey. Now to me it seems that this is not a joke and that realistically their should be several American states that should be bankrupt. The corruption was scary, organ trading and mean yikes!

So without getting into the political rhetoric which States either Democrat controlled or not have lost he plot completely?
