Should I play football for my senior year of high school?
I really enjoy playing pick up football games and I have played in the past (4th, 5th and 6th grade). I am 6'2'' 210 pounds. I think it would be fun to play my senior year. Any opinions? And also, what position should I play?

Personally, I think you ought to at least give it a try.. You should make your own decision though.. You know what you like and how much you are gonna put into it once you go out.. Good luck...

Your chances are pretty much zero. No sane coach would take you, who has no experience playing the position, over the kid who's played. Quarterback is the most cerebral position on the field. Aside from all of the physical aspects, you have to understand how to read defenses, go through throw progressions, etc. Having never played the sport, how do you expect to just walk on and start at QB? Players, even at the high school level, put in YEARS of practice to get where they are. You're thinking that you can learn in 5 months what they've spent years learning is insulting to them.

Yes, I agree with Chase's answer. I highly encourage you to play for your high school football team next season.
Based on your height and weight, I believe that the best fit for you is at quarterback. Your size gives you the potential to become an elite high school quarterback next season.
My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this offseason is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of being a successful, top notch quarterback in high school football next season, who could go on to play college football.
By the way, your chances of playing college football depend on your performance in football during your senior year of high school. If you perform very well in football next season, you will greatly improve your chances of getting recruited to play for a college football program.

If you like playing Football, why would you even need to ask us to encourage you to do so? Also, we can't give you any suggestions on what position you should play based solely on your height and weight. We would need so much more information about your ability to run, catch, jump, tackle, etc.

No one can make a choice for you. You are not likely to get much playing time unless you are just a stud player and a really fast learner.
