Can I use PS3 power cord on the PS4?

So, I just picked up a PS4 and I was wondering if I could just use the same cables (that are already hooked up to my TV for my PS3) so that I could just unplug one system and plug in the other.

Anyone try this already?

I wouldn't do it, but the PS3 and PS4 have universal power supplies, and fit a range of power. I would use the recommended cables. Using the wrong cables can not only result in shorts, but will lack in game performance and may shut off on its own. You can't use all 8 cores and the nice graphics card to its fullest without all the necessary power.
