"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator,"

The only benefit that could even possibly cross my mind is lack of any opposition to legislation. We have seen a lot of that with the senate in the last 15 years. Granted, our president has executive order so we have had what would have been considered totalitarianism in the last 4 years and it has harmed us.

The sole and only benefit is under a totalitarian government there is no red tape, so programs and public utilities (if there are any under a totalitarian government) get completed much faster.

Totalitarian states basically make citizens their slaves. They have no individual rights and must obey whatever the social arbiters decide. I suppose some people might be happy with this arrangement knowing that all decisions are made for them, kind of like little children.

In some cases there have been somewhat fair leaders who have made life fairly reasonable as long as you obey the law.
The problem comes when you have a lunatic for a leader.
