Did Ancient Aliens have a hand in shaping our civilizations or even our genetics as a species?

I would say the so called evidence is pretty scant or non-existent and also ask...why doesn't the History Channel or others present opposing views and evidences?

When you watch such shows like Ancient Aliens on TV or read the books by Von Daniken, etc.., you'll find a lot of words like... perhaps, maybe, possibly, could it be, we don't know, etc.. It's hardly what one would call solid definitive evidence or theory and they don't offer any possible alternative explanations or accept that there are other valid reasons for the evidences.

They imbue drawings or paintings of strange beings or gods as being aliens when they could just be imaginations of early people. If I drew a picture of some weird being and called it a god from Mars, does that make it real?...of course not. Jumping from "we can't explain something" to "aliens must have done it" is not really necessary. ..I couldn't explain or create my computer system but I'm fairly certain it wasn't built by aliens.

I would agree that some of the evidences they present are valid yet many others are not or misinterpreted based on their own ideologiy. They claim that ancient people simply did not have the skills or tools or intellect to create some artifacts or objects, megalithic sites, etc.. yet they omit evidences that ancient people were indeed highly skilled, intelliegent and used simple methods in some cases. We may not have all the details as to how ancient cultures progressed either...new evidences suggest that people had far more knowledge in early times than we previously thought. Some people have put forth various methods which could have been employed in the past although some methods or skills do defy the usual so-called evolutionary process. There is evidence that early people may have been able to produce crude telescopes or microscopes far earlier than commonly accepted....or methods to melt rock using highly polished mirrors and sunlight in order to achieve close tolerances of some stone constructions. Diamond covered bits or other abrasives on lathes or saws were used to cut and shape hard rocks like diorite or granite, etc...

If aliens were "required" to build temples or pyramids with huge stones or instruct us with higher technology, then why was the largest stone ever moved...around 1500 tons.. in Russia circa 1768 moved by human power alone? All they used were capstan winches and metallic balls to roll the sledge purely by human power. Stone spheres of various sizes have been found all over the ancient world and could have been used as well at Stonehenge...or other methods. Egyptians were famous for precisely rounded, lathed and sculpted bowls and vases made from some of the hardest rock on Earth...they could have been formed into ball bearings to move large stones and later repurposed into art objects thereby hiding their original purpose to others...just a guess on my part.

The Chinese moved 300+ ton stone blocks with ice on the trackway and lubricated by water which greatly reduced friction and the manpower required. Perhaps not a viable method in warmer climates like Egypt but it shows that people were inventive to move large objects and came up with ideas on their own.... no aliens required.

Misshaped skulls?...a lot of cultures modified or wrapped/bound infant skulls for various reasons or to imitate supposed gods in their minds but that is not evidence that such gods or aliens ever existed.

The bottom line for me is that there really is no solid evidence that aliens ever visited Earth or shaped our past DNA/achievements if you look at the supposed evidences with an open mind and critical thinking.

No, although the vastness of the Universe almost assures us that extraterrestrial life exists, it also assures us that they also do not know of our existence. A technologically advanced civilization within a hundred light years may suspect our existence because of our radio waves but our ancient civilization was not so easily detected. At best, any discovery of us by a technologically advanced civilization would be purely by chance like picking up a grain of sand on the beach and finding out it's a diamond.

The evidence cited by ancient alien advocates are contrived at best and simply do not recognize the extent of stone age technology. Evidence such as we would have difficulty building pyramids with modern equipment is meaningless as we no longer build stone monoliths, neither would aliens so why weren't the pyramids made of graphene aerogel or even of foamed concrete? Saying a stoned surface is machined perfectly flat is meaningless, a perfect straightedge can be formed by folding a flexible material in half, a 90 degree angle by folding again, 45 degree, 30 degree and 60 degrees are easily formed by folding and a draftsman from before the days of computer drafting would tell you any multiple of 5 degrees can be formed just with the 45 degree triangle, the 30 / 60 degree triangle and a straight edge, that's why we have them in our school geometry sets. Stone is easily machined with sand and wood blocks and moving blocks allow very precise geometry. A pyramid is basically a pile, why not something complex like a hyperbolic tensile structure?

If you actually did a proper review of the evidence claimed, you would find no actual evidence presented only logical fallacies. There are no evidence of alien visitation.
