what can i do to relieve the pain of me strept throat?

i was diognosed with strep yesterdaty and am on penecilyn, but its killing me. what can i do to sooth the pain for the next day or two. i tried chloraseptic drops and they kid of work, but not long. i need something as i have to tlak at my job and the more i tlak the more it hurts.

any suggestions - im desperate!!!
