Does anyone know if the oil pan on a Nissan Altima is metal in which a magnetic oil heater can be attached to?

Also it's a 1998,Automatic,front wheel drive Thanks :)

    Slide under the car as far as you can go with a magnet in hand.

    Touch the magnet to the pan, you will then determine if it is ferro- metal.

    However, if it is aluminum the magnet won't "stick".

    Unfortunately the secondary oil pan is steel but is located on the bottom of the motor where snow ice and 8" rocks will knock it off of the pan. Investigate Nissan Block Heaters and ask around for a better heater system.
