i just got a xbox 360 and the headphones will not work?

To get sound from your xbox into your headset your headset needs to have the red and white cables that hook up to your tv, and than your xbox cables plug into that. game sound is not sent into the Xbox 360 controller, the only sound sent to the controller are the voices of other players. If none of your headsets have those I recommend turtle beach headsets. There prices range from 20 dollars to like 300 dollars, the price is higher with the higher quality of headset. I have the turtle beach x12 which was 60 dollars and I think they are amazing. If that price is to high for what you wanted the turtle beach x11 is 40 dollars, and im not entirely sure the exact prices of there other products, but there are also better headsets than the x12 if you are looking for superior quality at higher prices.
