How did you or how do you call upon the name of The Lord?
in Joel 3 "Before the great and terrible day of Jehovah cometh, it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered. for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah has said, among the remnant whom Jehovah doeth call." It appears that as He is calling there will be a few calling or echoing His calling, maybe. And with all, I suspect the time for calling is at hand. Yet, how? How should we call on the Name that is above every other name? If Jehovah is calling today, (and surly He must be) I want to learn to return His sound, His desperation of concern with my human voice of alert and desperation as well.
Please Help! The day of Jehovah is surly near!

Perhaps the Songs in the book of Psalms are the best example. They not only have the words, but also the strength of human sentiments toward God. That is evident with a prevalent non word, "O" as the writers call out unto Jehovah, or the I Am, or The Almighty, or The Savior, ... Since God is all sufficient and increasingly available, the experience of those writers was not limited to a single articulation in the Psalms.
Colossians 2:6 says, "As there fore you have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in Him."
Galatians 5:16 says, "Walk by the Spirit and you shall by no means fulfill the lust of the flesh."
This all-inclusive Spirit is the all-inclusive Christ to us as the processed life imparting God to us to be our everything (which far surpasses mere religion and spirituality) so that He becomes our realm and very atmosphere.
Calling on the name of the Lord then must be deeply personal and not just a religious formula. As several formulas exist, their effectiveness is with the believer's own sentiments from the inner experience of the One they are receiving. This experience may have descriptive names, but is of the One through whom and for whom all things came into being. He was processed and consummated to become the Life giving Spirit to us today. It is from this divinely human organic sort, constituting people into the very kingdom of God, the House of God with even becoming the bright and glorious, loving bride of Christ, who in the days of their espousal become a warring army for the casting down of satan with his legions to further consummate the New Jerusalem the city of God. (please note: what is described here is a hidden history of God with His human friend composed of those who love Him) Some of this may be almost observable to a bystander, but the reality is only with the participants.

In the days of Jesus and his disciples, the Tetragrammaton appeared in copies of the Hebrew text of what is often called the Old Testament, as it still does today. However, for centuries scholars thought that the Tetragrammaton was absent from manuscripts of the Greek Septuagint translation of the Old Testament, as well as from manuscripts of the New Testament. Then in the mid-20th century, something remarkable came to the attention of scholars—some very old fragments of the Greek Septuagint version that existed in Jesus’ day had been discovered. Those fragments contain the personal name of God, written in Hebrew characters.

Calling on the name of the Lord is not and must not be only a form or formula, but rather a practice in reality, practicality with expected response to be the very One on Whom we call desperately.

Chi Girl is in error. Jehovah is the name of God and those who refuse to acknowledge it are not true Christians.
Jesus made his Fathers name known and he prayed that Gods name be hallowed or sanctified. That name is Jehovah
Psalm 83:18 in the KJV says Jehovah is the name of God and that Jehovah is the Most High over all the earth.
Chi Girl will probably tell us that the KJV is guilty of heresy since it uses the name Jehovah 4 times.
What is heresy is when Bible translators took out the name Jehovah and replaced it with a nameless title of LORD.

Rv 6:10, "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Jehovah, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"
Jehovah heears your cries but in v11 it says u must wate to be killed? Have patience until Jehovah has someone kill you, then u will be given a white robe while u wate.
Rv 5:12, Be patient until Jehovah sends the Lamb he made rich and powerful.
Rv 9:20, Beware, Jehovah cometh, to punish all those who bow down to things made of wood; figures of men and women, that cannot see or hear.
Rv 12:7-11, Be patient Michael will be sent to save you from the dragon. Then a christ will be sent for salvation, to destroy the devil. Look he is comming, the christ of Jehovah, to bring Salvation, after Michael defeats the dragon. Be patient.
Rv 14:4, Do not be fruitfull and multiply! Stay a virgin for Jehovah and follow the Lamb.
Do not worship wood! Do not worship statutes! Do not worship a man or a woman! Worship Jehovah and Michael.

Good for you Dale. Before we can call on his name, we have to know it. Most religions today don't use it, some don't even know it. Jehovah has taken out of all nations a people for his name. I am privileged to be among that people. Hope you are too. All the best. Jay
