How can I switch back and forth from Green to Purple Y!A?
I was trying to learn the new Purple format in my rare moments of mental clarity. Is there a link for each format that will bring it back into play when I need it?
I seem to be stuck in Green. I want to squirrel around with Purple once in a while and take advantage of any goodies they might have developed into it as well. I'm going to clear my cookies and see what that does. I have a 2005 XP machine.
I am still unable to get back to the Purple version. Do you have a link that forces Purple to present itself? I can be looking at Purple questions. As soon as I pick one and log on for it, it switches to Green. Same results, weather iE11, Firefox, or AOL9 on a Windows7 laptop .

I don't know either. Sometimes it would be handy to have a link that would force Purple and another link that would force the old Green format to work.

You can install a free browser add-on called “User Agent Switcher for Google Chrome.” Then click on the button for emulate Internet Explorer 7. This basically dumbs down the browser and removes all the fancy bells & whistles of the purple monstrosity (aka the new format). But even better yet, it defaults to the old green format -- exactly as it was eight months ago.
Similar solutions are available for all major browsers. If you use a mobile device, you might look into Dolphin. You can try Dolphin Browser to enter a custom user agent so the Y/A website will think you are using IE 7.
I am using the green format right now. I also switch back and forth. The IE 7 emulation works fine on Facebook and Y/A. But it doesn't work at all on most other sites. But it's easy to switch back and forth.

What I've done to handle that is use IE with compatibility view to get the green version. Then use Firefox for the purple version.
