Can you pay for breakfast at Chef Mickey's if you're not staying there?

You have to pay for it if you're staying at the hotel too unless you have a dining plan. However, YOU MUST have an advanced dining reservation. This is one of the most popular character dining meals. Reservations open 6 months ahead of time and often fill up in weeks. Walk ins are rarely accepted and you may have to wait a long time. Breakfast is in the $30 range

Yes! A Character meal outside of the park is one of the best ways to have that interaction and feel like you have been to Disney without actually going through the gates; good for a Walt Disney world vacation where you'd rather not spend the money to enter the park each day. Contemporary Resort is on the Monorail, so you can get from there to Magic Kingdom or the Downtown Disney Shopping area quickly and easily without charge. If you wanted to do Chef Mickey's for dinner instead, and time it right, there's a private Balcony down the hall from the restauraunt where you can watch Magic Kingdom's Fireworks.
