Do opponents of birth control coverage also oppose vasectomy coverage?

Seriously I don't know the answer - are companies suing to be exempted from covering birth control pills under the ACA due to their moral opposition to birth control also wanting to refuse coverage to their male employees for vasectomies?

Update:

Cossack - you might compare tubal ligation to vasectomy but not hysterectomy. Also, condom is not a prescribed medication and of course they would not be funded, they are over the counter.

I hope not because I might need that coverage if I decide to have a sex change. Is that covered?

Only the dumbest insurance company on Earth would appose such a thing. A typical insurance company pays the doctor about $450 for a vasectomy, and about $1500 for a delivery room. They would have to charge a lot more for their premiums. There is such a company; "Catholic Healthcare West." Yup, they are dumb as a company can get!

Anyway, a vasectomy only costs $700 (cash). If a man is too poor to pay for a vasectomy he maybe should be focusing on his problems, and not on getting laid.

Source(s): Had a vasectomy. I paid cash because I did not have health insurance.

Are elective hysterectomies opposed? That would seem more a relevant comparison.

Has anyone proposed the funding of condoms but not birth control pills? That would be rather inconsistent.

The who anti-birth control sentiment is beyond my comprehension, so I don't necessarily support it, but to make an allegation of hypocrisy, then I think we should be comparing apples to apples.

Anything that is not "medically necessary", like what is required for Medicare, should not be covered. Period. And that includes vasectomies.

    certainly not.

we are not against birth control. we strongly favor it. we are against abortion.

birth control is fine, of course i shouldnt have to pay for your stuff, but you should be able to get whatever you want.
