a string 1 molecule thick?

If I had a string 1 molecule thick, would it cut you or would the "string" go through without injuring you?

Update:

I'm sorry I didn't give enough detail. This "nano" string would be unbreakable, this is more an exercise on what would happen if, rather than if it is possible.

Neither. It would be too weak - it would break immediately you tried to use it.
