has ubisoft forgotten what Assassins Creed is about?

Is it just me, or has Ubisoft forgotten what Assassins Creed is all about. When i fired up AC4, i was hoping it would be amazing, and it was i really loved it, but it lacked what i was hoping it didn't. The Creed. There was hardly ANYTHING to do with the Creed itself. They took out the point in the hood which, (if you're a long time fan) is a trademark. I remember playing the first AC game, and it felt like an "Assassins Creed" game. In 2, Ezio was initiated at the end. In 3 Connor wasn't and neither was Edward. I understand that 4 is a closing to Desmond's story, and an opportunity to go new places, but "Creed" should be taken out of the title if it's to be this way from here on out. I have played every single Assassins Creed game to date, and AC1, AC2, ACB, ACR, have all given me what i wanted. I loved the secrets, conspiracies, and the secret war between the groups. But now all you do is get the robes, get the blades, and kill. If it were up to me, i would show how each Assassin trained. Because i mean come on, yeah Edward was a sailor but there is no way in hell he could have killed Walpole, or any other person the way he did. There is no way he could have learned how to scale a building without proper training. I know it's game, and i'm probably overreacting, but hey. I wish Ubisoft could see this haha. well who can tell me why it is this way, and who else agrees? I think this really needs to reach Ubisoft.

Update:

By the way, don't get me wrong here, i love every AC game, and i know Ubisoft works hard with these games.

I agree with you completely, 3 and 4 seemed to loose touch with its roots, 4 being more so.

It just seems that the main characters from 3 and 4 became assassins out of personal gain and like you said didn't really believe or follow the creed until much later in the story or had a halfassed commitment.

If anything they should change the title to something with templars, seeing as how your really just a psuedo assassin in the last two games, and how they are basically pushed so far into a corner that they can't even go outside for more than 15 minutes because the templars are a freaking global conglomerate that own just about everything.

Yes they lost touch, but still upheld the meaning of the creed with people who followed it, but weren't dedicated to it. As for climbing, Edward is a sailor aye, but what of his past? He may have enjoyed a nice view. Its in his blood to climb. They had him lower his hood on ship and friendly areas because people complained that he shouldn't do that because they didn't want the hood or it'd be disrespectful blah blah. As for Walpole, think of it as luck or destiny, plus they both survived a bad wreck, maybe Walpole was injured? Ubisoft has put heart and soul into all the ac games. Some things may be lacking but meaning behind everything and areas/terrain and truth to some things have remained a strong point for them. They in the right direction, just don't have time to dedicate to more content or ideas because their doing the cod way, a scheduled release.
