Can I enter Canada with pending felony charges?

I was arrested for a charge of grand larceny, I was released from the local court without any bond or bail, I was just released, no restrictions on travel, until my next hearing in a month, would I not be allowed to enter Canada right now? I am a US citizen.

You can go where you want. It is just that other places like Canada DO NOT and will not let you in. You will be escorted back to USA Customs/Immigration and they will chat with you maybe even give you a place to sleep for trying to flee the courts jurisdiction.

Why would Canada want you to visit?

No way the Canadians will let you in. You've got serious charges & a court date coming up. Criminy, I've seen them refuse entry to someone with a parking ticket! Do not even attempt this.

Furthermore, you might not have had to post bail, but you are still under the jurisdiction of the court. Right now you do not even leave the court's jurisdiction. Don't even try to travel to another state. You're in doodoo up your butt & over your head. Don't go anywhere except your criminal defense attorney's office & court date as assigned.

Chances are your charges will pop up. You might be denied entry, it will be at the discretion of the border services agent. You haven't been found guilty, so that isn't the issue. The concern will be you are fleeing and want to hide in Canada.

    NO you cannot enter Canada.

Your passport is linked to your police record and criminal records in both countries.

The agent is likely to refuse you in case you are fleeing.
