Question for people who live or have lived in Manchester or people who know the area well?

ECCLES is not fantastic but has VERY good areas on the edges, such as ELLESMERE PARK (Near Salford Royal Hospital...) which is rich and MONTON....Is patchy and need to hunt out places to live with care....MIDDLETON is a mix...AVOID THE LANGLEY Estate at all costs...To the southern end ALKRINGTON is nicest bit of M24 which is odd since is the part nearest the boundary with City of Manchester and the inner city areas ... & generally, as with Eccles, there are good parts all over.....Just as a bit of extra info PRESTWICH, which is the other side of HEATON PARK to Middleton, is WAY NICER.....Is near to impossible to find a grotty part of Prestwich which like Eccles is on a TRAM line..Is so close to Manchester City centre but suburban, all the same..Bit dearer as a result...

Although they have MANCHESTER addresses & POSTCODES, Eccles is in Salford, Middleton in Rochdale & Prestwich in Bury....Parts of the Greater Manchester urban sprawl...Bury schools are excellent which is a PLUS for Prestwich. Council tax slightly higher in Salford.....

Both are Rough TSK is clearly from Eccles and is therefore also probably rough.

NEVER EVER go to Middleton unless you really have to, there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER to go there!

Eccles is rough but has a load of good pubs strangely:-)
