you can lower the key of the song to fit your voice. It's the important to analyze the high notes of a song before you sing it. I lower the key of songs all the time because I'm a Baritone. Audacity can transpose songs as well as other programs out there. To succeed in singing it has to come naturally, so your voice will shine and don't strain your voice either. Just because you sing a song in a lower key doesn't mean you're a bad singer. We all have our own unique voices. Another thing is don't lower the key of the song too much to the point where the low notes of the song are too low for you. If you have an Android phone download an app called "DaTuner" on the Play Store or if you have an Iphone download the app called "TE Tuner". It's very easy to check your vocal range with these apps if you don't have a piano. They are very accurate in pitch. Also, if you have an Android download an app called "Perfect Piano". Play any pitch on that app until you can't go higher. If you don't know much about pitches don't worry the notes are already displayed on the piano keys. Good luck!
