Why did Herrera only call 23 players when he could of called 30 or 26? I wanted to see that Enriquez kid from Chivas get a chance.?

Enriquez? The one that's always injured? He's a good player but doesn't stay consistent with his teammates due to his glass physique.

The reason Herrera called 23 is because that is the maximum number of players that are allowed to go to the World Cup.

All of the teams are required by FIFA to make a list of 30 because 7 of the players are used as "back ups" just in case a player from the "23" list gets injured or has any other emergency that prevents him to go to the World Cup.

Some managers prefer to set their team up at 23 from the get go to minimize suspense. The team can still add players to the roster up until Brazil so there are still possibilities for other guys. This actually adds some flexibility.

The Americans went the opposite way and named 30 players, seven of whom will need to be dropped. If some other American "blows up" into an overnight sensation, he'll just have to wait until 2018 for his World Cup chance.
