What sort of impact have the recent "changes" to Answers made.?
Are long term users leaving in droves/are they staying to try and make some sort of sense of it all?Do newcomers look at it shake their heads and move on?Or is it a case of hanging on in the hope that it has all been a bad "dream"and we get back to normality.
I ask these questions as a massive ex fan of answers, thank you.

I'm not sure if is that long term users have been leaving in droves since the recent changes, as a long term user who stared using around Answers 2007 I've noticed that people come and people go. I did have number of contacts that no longer use Answers and that was well before the changes came about. Sometimes it's just a matter that people find different things in their lives that spark their interests and Answers no longer plays such an important role. I think sometimes it's just a matter of phase where people come and people go.
I took a break a from Answers about a year ago well before the new changes did come effect, it was more a matter of being tired of all the negativity, the trolling, the back biting, the cheating, and how easy it was/is for people to create accounts just to create conflict, basically I was tired of reporting and community moderation when seeking knowledge was the reason I joined. Not to be a reporter.
I won't deny though that numbers of people have left because of the purple changes, also that a sense of community has been lost, Answers IMO lost it's originally since the recent changes, the old green format was so different from anywhere else now it just a clone of all other Q & A sites that it no longer stands out as it once did, maybe that's a good thing maybe not.
Maybe it's just a dream or just the new phase in Y/A life ;)

Long term users that I have known are leaving in droves yes, they may still have accounts but rarely use them. The site is less personal these days & reporting is through the roof, seldom do I receive a BA, violation notices however are pretty much a daily thing, Q&A from years ago, it's irritating, disappointing, not much fun.
