What length spinning rod fits a 4000 size reel?
I just bought an Okuma abf 40a to put on a rod I already have to try for surf perch in soCal. The rod is only 6' and this reel is stupid big for it. What's a better fit? I'll be using 8lb mono.
Thanks

I have a penn battle 8000 on a 5' 6" rod. The rod length isn't as important as the action and weight of the rod. If the rod is rated for 12lb line and the weight of your bait/lure you should be fine. A longer rod's big benefit is a longer cast, but it also gives the fish more leverage against you.
