What is the total amount of dividends paid annually by all of the S&P 500 companies?
Many of the S&P 500 companies pay dividends. I'm trying to find out the total amount of dividends paid out in a typical year to shareholders. Obviously the number varies from year to year. Do you know where such information can be found? Thank you.

You will have to compile that on your own. There is no one place that will have that information because it is basically useless information for the vast majority (99.9%) of people.
