With the technology we have today, why don't we have direct democracy?

With the availability of todays technology. Security and access shouldn't be a problem when some tries to vote if they want a law passed. So why do we still need corrupted politicians (who don't listen to the population anyways, only to the corporations that "donate" money) in charge of making the law for the rest of the population?

When we can have people directly voting to enact the law.
