Does a Christian walk a higher path...?
... or do they get to live the life of a sinner like everyone else except they go to Heaven because they believe in Jesus?

We will not be on this earth for long, so what happens in the next life must surely be of interest and concern. Unbelievers think that if they ignore it, it will go away. But it will not go away. Sooner or later they are going to have to face it. What then? Is there hope of eternal life or merely expectation of oblivion? What if oblivion is not that, but an eternity of torment in Hell?
Christians use their own Bible which is the New Testament. In it they are taught that, through Jesus Christ, they live under God’s grace, which means forgiveness for sins, and they do not work under Law so they do not need to adhere to the Old Testament book of Law but to the two Commandments of Christ: 1. Love God completely, and 2. Love your fellow man as yourself. As faith in Christ is a personal relationship with Him, behaviour becomes a matter for the conscience. Their actions cannot be judged by other people who are sinners themselves. Only Christ can judge them.
The Christian is happy because with Christ as his saviour he knows his sins have been forgiven and he will spend eternity in the light and love of the Holy Trinity. His place in Heaven has been reserved and death holds no terrors. If the atheist cannot say the same, then he should be afraid of death.

A very good and valid question, (although I said to myself, I would not answer any question tonight) yours causes me to ask, 'what is going on in the hearts and minds of people who profess to love as Jesus Christ does...yet act superior to all?' There is something to question within that be ~ attitude. What I am noticing is this: It seems we are at a loss for understanding the kind of authority Jesus used... no force, meekness... laced with authentic kindness, knowing gentle wisdom works best... in a moment with truth, trust is born, manifested, in a quiet moment that is restful.
Considering all that is meant and comes into us, as the 'foot~washer' kneels in place, seems to suggest to me, that one is meant to stay close to the heart of the earth, to be like minded with the kind of Godliness Jesus Christ has... He spoke of this with clarity as he washed the feet of those present. Not done in any high minded manner either, as he looked *Up* with love at whomsoever turn it was...not from the stance of being as one who sought the highest position...

Please don't lump all us Christians together. Some of know KNOW we are sinners and work to correct it. It's those who ignore their sins in the belief all are forgiven in the end that give us a bad name. The door was opened, but many of us will not be judged worthy even though we believe.

Well...I'll tell you how I see it. If there was a god, who created a horrible place like Hell and a wonderful place like Heaven, and then expected his followers to mentally divide their fellow human beings according to who was going to suffer for all eternity in Hell and who would go to Heaven, I don't think that anyone who would worship such a monster is walking "a higher path". Quite the opposite, in fact.

Not usually. Christians actually "sin" more than atheists do.
Atheists have lower teen pregnancy rates than Christians do: http://secularist10.hubpages.com/hub/Religion-Athe...
Atheists do not divorce as often as Christians: http://www.opposingviews.com/i/religion/atheist-ma...
Atheists do not get abortions as often as Christians: http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/aboutme/abortion....
Religious are more likely to lie for financial gain: http://www.salon.com/2013/10/22/study_religious_mo...
And then they also commit more illegal "sins" too:
Percent of prisoners who're Christian: about 80% ( when you add the number of Catholics, Protestants, Pentecostals, Mormons, church of Christ members, and Jehovah's Witnesses on this list it adds to 80 http://www.holysmoke.org/icr-pri.htm )
Percent of Americans who're Christian: 73% ( look at "trends in Religious affiliation, 2007-2012" which is about a fourth the way down http://www.pewforum.org/2012/10/09/nones-on-the-ri... )
Percent of prisoners who are atheist: .02% ( http://ffrf.org/news/news-releases/item/18197-surv... )
Percent of Americans who're atheist, or who don't believe in a god: 9% ( look at the 11th paragraph of this source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/wtwtgod/3518... )

In my experience, Christians aren't nearly as holy and moral as they like to pretend they are.

Well, their pedestal sure is higher, so the path must be.
