Individual human lives have almost no value in an objective sense, or at least not more value than the degree to which they come into 'view'. Phenomenal reality is what assigns their value.

The uniquely fundamental and most vital purpose in any human life is to truly know thyself and love all others, unconditionally. It is not only the reason but also; the "Balance" in the goodness and harmony of all.

I don't think all will ever agree. Maybe that's why it's best left up to each of us to place our own value on our lives.. much as it is up to each of us to understand our purpose.

Others won't always see things the same as I do .

To give you an answer stating the value is to give a biased answer because it will hold my opinion.

As a species, I think it really boils down to the pursuit of knowledge, making the world a better place for the masses, and passing along a better world to the children. In that sense, humans fail from time to time. Many recent events do not reflect the greatest value of human kind, but there is still great curiosity and capacity for growth that still holds promise for the future. I think that there is some value in that.

In some time in the future, human-kind is likely to perish, and in the grand scheme of things for the universe, it may not mean a thing, but for the time being, we should all be nice to each other and enjoy the ride.

In my opinion, this question is, in a way, a frequently asked question. Thus, like many frequently asked question, there are no precise answer. I am stating this in an early part of the answer in order to inform you that this answer can be right and wrong. I answered this question by my pure opinions and thoughts.

Earth is the only planet which has a form of life. That, itself, is extraordinary to think. If we, as humans, have no values, then what difference do we make in this universe? We, as a living, breathing, and animate beings, are somewhat special. We can do things others cannot, that is, to make a change in the world, for the better. And how can we make a change when we underestimate others? For no one has no talent; and no one has no role in this world. Even mentally retarded people will make a change for the better in this world. That is the main reason for why we must value the individual human lives: opportunities. There are no bad people, there are just bad teachers. Even the pope himself, if to be thought by a bad individual, will also be affected.
