How to upgrade windows 8 to 8.1?
...Yeah, well I want to upgrade from windows 8 to 8.1, and I am perfectly eligible for it. There is just one problem, I can't open the store. And it's not just the store, none of my windows 8 applications work. They just open, and close as soon as the app logo is displayed on the screen. There isn't even an error message or anything. I am upgrading in the hopes of solving this issue, so is there any way to upgrade without going through the store?

not without installing the os through a dvd. if you can't access the store, make sure your time and date is right and then go to windows update. search for updates. if there are no updates and you still cant access store, check your firewall and possibly disable. If you have a legit version of windows and you have updated, and have no firewalls on then you should have no trouble getting to store. if you still have trouble id call microsoft or reinstall 8.0 then go directly to store.
