What causes pessimism?

I get in these moods where I Just don't give a flip about anything or anybody's nonsense, but I don't really have anyone to express this to. Can someone give just a little meaningful advice?

Once we've had experiences, our ways of thinking aren't so gullible anymore. We begin to doubt anything that seems 'fishy', or too good to be true.

Pessimism occurs when we start comparing ourselves to others and how much better other peoples' lives are, or when others have simply hurt us in way that we can't fully mentally grasp. The brain has a way of blocking painful memories.

One thing to remember is that a pessimistic person very often comes off as mad instead of sad. People who are sad inside show anger outwardly. There's a saying that goes, "hurt people hurt people", meaning that when one is hurt we subconsciously hurt others whether we realize it or not.

To avoid pessimism, it's all about working around it and not with it. If you work with it, it will only eat you up more. But if you work around it, the pessimism cannot get to you because you've already mastered its deceptive nature. It's about being the bigger person and not letting the little things in life get to you.

some possible psychological causes for pessimism are:

Bad past experience: If a person failed many times he might start to believe that success is not possible and so become pessimistic.

Pessimism isn't only caused by bad past experience but it can result from listening to people who tell you about their bad past experiences. If you are surrounded by pessimists then you will certainly become one after sometime even if you never failed before

    I also get this way

I just call these days a "day off" to make myself feel better or "rest day" but in reality I simply am too tired and have no motivation or urge to keep going...

I think these times are when you are meant to keep on fighting because I have heard that when you keep on fighting on hopeless days that is how you build strong character and find a sense of purpose in life~

Agreed with Yaashin. Pessimism is caused by fear. The fear of failing being optimistic. And think of this, if you are pessimistic about something and something good happens about it, you will be really happy.

It is caused by negative life events.

Pessimism is caused just because of this 4 letter word "FEAR"., It is nothing else but the fear about what would happen, How worse it could be !!!! .....All these days when we live our life in our comfort zone but when a new situation comes in, when you are forced to face it., this pessimism comes into picture. To avoid it all you need to do is Just feel excited about the new situation and try to discover some happiness from the new situation. Try to enjoy and see the better part in it. Its a chance given for you to face a challenge and succeed in it.
