What is everyone planning on grilling for the 4th of July?

We are going to try and come up with some helpful recipes for grilling on different types of grills;

Smokers, Kamado, Pellet, Gas, Charcoal

And what types of meat go best in each type of grill.

Let us know what you think would be helpful to include, thanks!

    Hayneedle, though we are north of the boarder, I have my close department staff coming that day. I am doing a seasoned yearling butt on a spit this year, something of a change.

    I like using charcoal a lot, when I am cooking really thick pork chops or rib eyes, the smoke gives the meat an better flavor than with the gas.

    I use the gas if I am doing a lot, and I am doing vegetables and fruit like peaches and pineapple on the grill.

    I do not have much luck with shrimp on the charcoal, but I do on the gas grill. I do a lot of indirect cooking on the charcoal, like wild game birds.

    I'm smoking a turkey for dinner, and will have steaks for lunch. It will be a day of BBQ, beer, and swimming. Sides will be fresh from the garden corn, salad, potatoes, and broccoli. My wife will be baking dinner rolls, and a cake.

    We (and by that I mean my mom's very large side of the family) cook burgers,hot dogs and chicken for the 4th! I think I might make some ribs at home though. I have been craving some for a while!

    *Most people I know use Propane,but personally I'm a fan of Charcoal! I like the smell and unique taste it offers various meats.
