has anyone used the pedi paws for their cat?

I have a cat that just is impossible to clip her nails, she is impossible to hold and she literally screams like we are killing her, last time I was so stressed and she was too, and l accidently cut her and she bled, not bad it quit in less than a minute but it upset me so bad l just can't try it again, it has been like this since l rescued her in May of last year l am willing to try anything that works and that she will not freak out so bad...it is so stressful for both of us, so l would like to know if anyone has tried it on cats...

I have never used the PediPaws thing on my cats - I see an awful lot of them donated to ValuVillage so I think they might not be as good as the ads say.

Please don't give up on clipping her claws. Get some clippers you are comfortable with. I've got clippers made for cats and I have dog ones also but what I usually use is the cheap ones made for humans. The little silver ones that cost .99 cents and are like a lever. Don't try to cut all her claws at the same time. Limit your stress and hers by cutting only one or two claws a day. You may be able to do more but don't push it and take your time. It may take a week or two but eventually all the claws will be cut. Handing out treats (good treats that you only use during nail clipping sessions) after the ordeal will teach her that a few seconds of being annoyed by nail clipping will be followed by a really good treat. Also you don't need to cut tons of nail off - just start by cutting off a bit at a time. The more frequently you trim the nails, the shorter they will become over the years.

Source(s): 42 years of nail trimming - and I have had some screamers and biters also.
