Being a quitter is sometimes a very good thing. When something is compulsive or addictive (gambling, drinking, drugs, etc.) it is almost always a good thing to quit.

The most traditional ways to quit gambling include seeing a therapist or joining a support group, such as Gamblers Anonymous. It also helps to pursue other interests, such as doing volunteer work or joining a club.

If you need more help, you can apply to CORE, an inpatient center for compulsive gamblers.

Finally, if nothing else works, you can turn control of your finances over to another person, someone who will restrict the amount of cash you have at any given time. That may not prevent you from all gambling, but it will prevent you from losing more than you can afford to lose.

I rather be called a quitter than being a gambler and won't admit it.

The funny thing is a felt guilty for buying a playstation 4 game "the last of us" for $50 and the same night spent over $400 playing poker. However the video game has much more value and I've played for days but all the money wasted on poker was one night. Thanks for the advice.
