Do not ever let black widow spiders go. If that spider kills a toddler, it will be partly your fault. Most toddlers will get sick from a black widow bite, but some will die.

Most kinds of spiders are harmless to people, and should not be bothered. They kill mosquitoes and other harmful insects. Mosquitoes are far more harmful to humans than any spiders ever were. A few people have died from spider bites but those who have died from mosquito bites are so many more it might be a million times as many.

A black widow won't bite you if you don't bother it. But it will bite a toddler, because the toddler will try to pick it up, clumsily, and make it feel like it's being attacked by a monster. So always collect black widows and confine them securely, and never let them go.

When we lived in CA and I encountered black widows, I killed them. Grass spiders and other types I left alone. If they were in the house, I got something to put them in and put them outside, but black widows, without exception, I killed.

Well, black widows can have a rather bad bite if you go poking fingers into their web.

Widows are just cobweb spiders and eat a lot of pest insects like cockroaches and earwigs.

If they are out of the way with little chance of contact, I just leave them alone.(they will leave you alone)

Grass spiders are like house spiders and very harmless, I just leave them be, indoors or out.

Here is a western black widow I 'allowed' to stay in my bathroom,I named her Wanda:

Here is a small grass spider that stayed on my desk lamp most of the season till he died:

It is OK if spiders are not welcome in your home, but outside, just let nature deal with them.

I always say to spiders in my house... "Spider, meet Shoe."

I think you should kill them cause you shouldn't be putting yourself at risk cause they could come back
