In general, trolls seem pretty histrionic, so if every single person who experienced them simply ignored them, then it's likely that they would stop. But since the possibility of every single person ignoring them is extremely *un*likely, then individual people choosing to ignore them isn't going to do much. So I've taken to calling them out on how pathetic their lives must be, which is true.

Best handling for a troll is to pick it up with your left hand and using your right index finger, twist the troll's hair clockwise. Unless you're left handed...then reverse above directions.
