What are the steps in learning to play the piano?

In terms of how long it takes it also depends on how much time you spend practicing each day because piano is pretty hard to learn. For practicing, I would say make sure you can play all major and most minor scales comfortably. The links you have aren't that hard to learn so if you learn slowly and try to go faster I think that is could work out. Oh and make sure you can play some easy songs too before trying to play that and maybe just take any sheet music and make sure you can name all the notes on the music pretty quickly. Have fun! :D

Step 1 - Buy a piano
Step 2 - Find a teacher
Step 3 - Do what the teacher tells you to do.
If you want to learn on your own: Buy a beginner piano book. Read everything very thoroughly and do what the book tells you to do. I would still recommend you talk to someone who's taken lessons about what books they started with and go and buy those books.
Depending on age, I recommend Bastion or Fable.

Musically inclined is a beginning. Too, realizing that the keyboard is really NOT as complicated as it might first appear . It is essentially a series of the SAME set of keys repeated over and over simply making the same notes higher or lower in pitch.
Learning what they are and fingering is the next step Then you can learn to read a" score" , or" just play by ear" (like I do). Good luck. Peace.

Gosh, sorry, damn yahoo, Idk how to write a description on the question, but Im intrested in playing the piano, and I cannot get a piano instructor to help me out, so Im intrested in teaching myself. But id like to know where exactly should I start? Like what do you think I should start learning, and in what order? I do know some basics, like what letter goes with each note, and right now im working on some scales, cause I heard that helps with your hands working together, but whats next to learn? Btw im 17, and intrested in playing soundtyracks from videwogames and movies on the piano. Oh, and I would like to learn to read music sheets too, so idk when i should start learning that too, so any help will be appreciated thanks :)
