Embarrassing, inept, abysmal, pathetic?

Update:

Not my words - but those of Sunil Gavaskar.

Two questions -

First where are all the (2011) conspiracy theorists who blames English cheating, doctored pitches, bribed umpires and (my favourite) recycled rainwater?

Second - where does India go from here?

In some respects the poor umpiring should be sorted by the DRS system however with India refusing to use the system I have no sympathy for them or the decisions which they get as it is their own fault.

As for where they go from here I feel that they should stick with the likes of Vijay, Kohli, Pujara, Rahane as this was many of their first tours to England and the wickets, weather, Dukes ball can all take some getting used to. Playing Gambhir was a backwards step for me and Dhawan was made out to be a scapegoat and should have been given more time like Kohli and Pujara were given.

The bowling IMO was fine with Sharma, Kumar and Aaron all impressing, the one question that us English fans wondered was why Ashwin wasn't picked despite his poor overseas record as he is a genuine spin bowler.

Many of the players can return with Credit with Vijay, Rahane and Dhoni all performing at times with the bat, but at the end of the day they just weren't as consistent as England

I have never seen this kind of batting - I haven't seen a lot anyway, but still.

This was just ridiculous. It felt like a collective meltdown. I couldn't believe what I was watching...

I hope they stick with the top 5 we had in the first three Tests, they enjoyed success in SA and NZ, so they should get more opportunities.

You left out 'hopeless'! For once Sunny was spot on.It's hard to believe that after the second test they could possibly lose.

Congrats to England, they deserved the win.

You raise a good point Rohan. Agree that the DRS should have been used to improve the umpiring.

Edit: Please don't stop suddenly Lomax, we'd have to pull Anonymous out by the ankles.
