does weight gain look more noticeable on small people?

I'm 4'11 and it feels like when I gain a pound it looks like a stone. I feel I look more stumpy because of my height and I think if I was 6 inches taller I wouldn't look as stumpy. So in general do people who are short look fatter when they gain weight compared to people who are average height?

It depends on your bone structure and how you carry your weight.

I'm 4'10 and I gain weight mostly in my hips butt and legs. I weigh 145 but people still say I'm thin but I carry my weight in my lower body.

If it goes to your belly people will notice it more because your short. If i gain a few pounds it goes straight to my butt and everyone notices.

I bet you look perfect how you are

If you gain weight in muscle you can look slimmer.

Your body proportions matter too. If you have long legs and a short torso you can look less stumby. I have long legs and a short torso so I look a lot taller. Try clothes to make you look taller.

You're right. Us short people can't eat as much as tall people, because there's less of us to regulate; we gain weight easier, and the distribution of fat is more obvious. A pound of a short person is different than a pound on a tall person.

Everything is proportional. So yes, to you, a few pounds is a higher percentage of your total body weight than someone who is 6ft tall. This means that a few pounds weight gain is more noticeable to people of your height than on someone taller.

So you are right in what you say, but being smaller you should need less food to keep you going & therefore feel less hungry.

my friend went to his doctor he is 5' 10" and 17 stone. the doctor put him on the scales and said, right you have an ideal weight of a 7' tall man. so that pretty much answers your question tall people can carry weight better than short people

Yes. I am 5'8 and carry extra weight, but people usually think I weigh less than I actually do becase I carry it well. I don't think shorter people can get away with it as much, sadly.

Ya you're basically right, length will affect how skinny or fat you look.
