Is time off for the death of a grandparent covered under FMLA?
My wife was written up for taking a day off when her grandmother died. It was the third day she'd taken off in a couple months (the other two were for an illness).

No doubt if she has her name listed as family, and you can get this from the mortuary..she will be excused. The other guy can stand his head and do flips with the paper and pin trying to boss her but it won't fly with everyone else there that way!

No it is not. FMLA covers caring for someone that is alive. It does not cover taking time off after a death at all.
