I think that by calling them what they want to be called, Yahoo! News gives them the credibility they want. What will Y! News call them when our allied forces find a way to destroy their state?

The philosophical among us are more sensitive to the subtle psychological facets of language and grammatical usage. Let the terrorist organization be named by the world in such a manner that it is stripped of any pretense of legitimacy it assigns to itself, for it rivals only Hitler in its vile and visceral reduction of human value and dignity.

Why is it anymore accommodating than using the acronym which means the same thing?
I think you just have a preference for jargon.
