I'd say it all depends on what sign is placed in their mercury planet.
Air signs are typically more quick and witty with their comments during a conversation, able to connect up the dots, look at the bigger picture as a whole.
Water signs can be intense, may want to examine each text, takes too much time analyzing each line.
Earth signs - Too slow, no offence.
Fire- Oh my, they'll say the most random'est things.. But, it may not logically make sense.
